If I were to take and give all I know
To no one but you in hopes that youd glow,
How could you tell me what shouldnt be true,
That all you could feel is cold through and through?
What more could I give, what more could I share?
Id like to know what, though knowings unfair.
I'd feel very dry, like a used up well,
But still I would dig then come up and yell
Yes, I have done it! Theres water, you see?
Drink and be happy; my bucket runs free.
The air is very dry during late afternoon in the SWAT training field. Five men are in a small area just beyond the makeshift exercise house. As the sun begins to make its descent behind the hills they relax and prepare their minds. All save one.
A man is knelt behind the others as they listen to the gunshots and shouts coming from the house. This man is concentrating intently on his bootlaces. He ties the bunny ears and pulls them tightly only to undo the knot and start over. First one boot and then the other, he just cannot seem to get the laces exactly how he wants them.
A teammate turns around and sees the struggle, he asks, Er
Crushing glaciers,
My heart a droplet.
May it freeze,
I can not stop it.
The shining ray,
A stout reminder
Of the warmth
Which lets me run
Across the blank
And windy features
Of the ice.
A path is melting.
At first one foot,
Then countless others
Make it through
The pelting hail.
As I walked on
I saw, and no lie
The most beautiful butterfly.
I glanced just once,
The sight was no more,
But I had witnessed the strength of its soar.
My eyes fixed straight,
I went down the road,
And my heart lurched in pain, with each step strode.
Then I turned back,
And what a surprise!
There it flew, up into the skies.
